WE ARE OPPI
WELCOME 2017-2018 COUNCIL MEMBERS!

Welcome new 2017-2018 Council members! Member value will continue to be our guiding metric as we look to the year ahead. We will continue to engage members on a regular basis to ensure that their views are reflected in our strat
egic discussions and that the Institute continues to deliver high quality programs and services.

I look forward to working with Council and all of our members over the next two years to ensure that OPPI remains a strong, sustainable organization that remains relevant and delivers value.

I am RPP!

FAREWELL TO OPPI'S DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Loretta Ryan, RPP, OPPI's Director of Public Affairs, is leaving OPPI to take a new opportunity to create change as Executive Director at the Association of Local Public Health Agencies.

Over the past seventeen years Loretta has worked tirelessly to build relationships with key stakeholders for OPPI Province-wide. Throughout her time at OPPI, Loretta has engaged, and worked with many hundreds of volunteers and members to achieve four significant OPPI strategic plans and more than 130 policy submissions

Her vast knowledge of - and infectious passion for - the planning profession has no doubt inspired a generation of Ontario planners. From all of OPPIs volunteers past and present, Council and staff we thank you Loretta for your dedicated service to OPPI.
YOUR PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
MOVING BILL 122 FORWARD
For those who were not able to join us at the Conference, we were very pleased to announce that Ted McMeekin, MPP for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale, has agreed to sponsor the Bill and have it transferred to him now that the Bill's original sponsor, MPP Peter Milcyzn, has assumed a new role as the Minister of Housing and Minister Responsible for the Poverty Reduction Strategy. Mr. McMeekin is a Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier, a former Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing, and a long-time friend of the planning profession.

This is another important step in the Registered Professional Planners Act's journey to Third Reading and Royal Assent. While the Bill received all-party support at First and Second Reading earlier this year, and has been referred to a Standing Committee, we cannot afford to take anything for granted. Find out how you can help Bill 122 move forward
