Greetings, friends, and welcome to our October newsletter! Despite the hot weather, we are quickly making our way through Fall and closing in on Winter (scary, I know). For Music Time Academy, this means but one exciting thing - our Winter Concert is quickly approaching! Please save the date (and start practicing):

WINTER CONCERT
Sunday, December 14th, 2014
Bothwell Arts Center in Livermore

Keep on reading for the official Concert announcement...
GET READY FOR 3 STAGES OF LIVE MUSIC!
After another year of increasing numbers of students here at Music Time Academy, we are excited to have our biggest Winter Concert yet!
We have had some positively epic afternoons in the past (as many of our staff and long-time students can vouch for). Although we absolutely love seeing hours and hours (and hours) of musical performances, we do realize that there are a lot of young children performing , and that it is appreciated to keep the concert duration to a reasonable length. Since we fully expect all students (and their families) to stay until the end of the program to support other performers, we have added a 3rd stage to keep the Concert length down a bit. You're welcome. :)

ss bragging rights) a $30 Gift Certificate to Music Time Academy, as well as a $20 gift card to the Cinema West Theater in Livermore!

Although Patty only came to Music Time Academy a few months ago, she quickly stood out to our staff by joining 3 different programs here. When we mentioned the nomination for Student of the Month to her, she sent us the following story:

"Because I wanted to improve my guitar playing, I decided to research a couple of music schools in the area, of which I selected Music Time Academy - so happy I did.  I found that meeting the needs of the student is a priority at Music Time.  First, I joined the weekly Ukulele workshop.   I then signed up for private guitar lessons and when I found out that a band workshop was being formed I added that to my agenda as well.  You can never practice too much!  Thanks Music Time for making music so much fun!"

That's right - you NEVER can practice too much! Well said, Patty, well said.

Do you know a current Music Time Academy student with a newsworthy musical story or accomplishment from the past month that should be featured? If so, please fill out our online nomination form by following this link:  STUDENT OF THE MONTH NOMINATION FORM
Teacher Feature
For October, we would like to feature Michael Solomon, one of the longest standing staff members at Music Time Academy.

If you are not one Michael's 40+ students, you might recognize him as the instructor who always has a dog in his teaching room! Michael (with the help of his trusty sidekick, Wolfie) teaches Guitar, Bass, Piano and Ukulele at Music Time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. He has worked with hundrededs of Music Time Academy students since he first joined our staff in 2011, in addition to having years of prior teaching experience of private lessons and group guitar classes. Michael is proud to be the only instructor at Music Time that is currently certified to offer preparation for the standardized Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations.

Although a highly skilled and experienced pianist, Michael holds a Bachelor's Degree in Classical Guitar from California State University, East Bay. His primary musical performance project is an acoustic duo (alongside Judy Cruces, fellow Music Time Academy instructor) specializing in Brazilian/Spanish, Samba, Jazz & Classical Music.
