ATA Gymnastics Newsletter
      October 2016

October is Safety Month:

At ATA we strive to offer quality gymnastics instruction in a fun, challenging and positive atmosphere.  Our goal is to accomplish all of the above in the safest environment possible.  As with any activity, there is inherent risk in gymnastics.  We want to provide our staff, parents and students with the knowledge and tools necessary for a safe experience every time they walk through ATA's doors.  In order to do this, all recreational classes will be focusing on safety during the month of October.  Week 1: Earthquake drill-classes will review and practice the steps that should be taken in the case of an earthquake.  Weeks 2 & 3: Safety Falls-classes will discuss why safety falls are so important and practice performing safety falls going forward and backward.

Acrobatic Gymnastics Team

September is a month of new beginnings and we are certainly impressed with Team ATA's official start of the training season!  Although we are still nailing down season-long partnerships, the level 7 and up athletes are set to go and making early progress on their skill sets!  We call this part of the season "under construction" because we are laying the foundations and the beginning structure for the skills that all pairs and groups must have to perform skills later on.  A lot of hard work is spent on repeating drills and working pieces of skills.  Safety is #1 and having a solid method in place to teach progressions builds confidence and trust between athletes and between pair/groups and their coaches.

Tops and Bases took time out for a little fun and team bonding at pool parties this month!  The weather was accommodating and the food healthy and delicious!  Athletes swam, bounced on the trampoline, and played games!  Fun was had by everyone; parents, coaches and athletes!

Have a Great Day!
