Well, we sure didn't expect to be knitting with air conditioning on in October......

In six short weeks, the Annual Fiber Festival of New England will be in full swing!! On November 4th & 5th, head up to the Big E and stop by my booth! I am working on some new kits that I'll be bringing, and there will be lots to see! I'll be in booth 291/292/293W

Don't forget to follow me on instagram (@marjisyarncrafts) or like my page on facebook (marji's yarncrafts) to see what's new in stock, projects that we're working on here at the shop, and cool color and fiber inspiration!

the italian method for tubular cast-on
with marlene

The Italian cast-on produces a nice, elastic ribbed edge that can be used for two-color brioche and double knitting. The Italian cast-on is also an alternative method of starting a tubular cast-on giving a beautiful, professional beginning for hats, cuffs, or any other ribbed edge. Start your next hat in this class as you learn!
Sunday, October 29,  2:30-4:30    $16

and, who doesn't need a hat?!
Each of these hats is pretty on it's own, but each will also focus on a new technique!  A great way to learn something new on a small and manageable project!

OCTOBER: the molly hat

The Molly Hat, by Erin Ruthstarts with a neat ribbed brim with a facing. The main hat has a soft waffle-stitch texture, a decreasing cable and just enough slouch.
This one's a very flattering favorite!

Wednesdays, October 18 & 25    7-8:30 pm    $24

NOVEMBER: tied knots hat

We'll start off with a tubular cast-on for a really neat edge to the ribbing. Once your ribbing is done, you'll begin the beautiful tangle of cables that make this hat such a showstopper . Pattern is by Justyna Lorkowska.

Wednesdays, November 8 & 15    7-8:30 pm     $24
toe-up socks
with marlene
Believe me when I tell you that these socks are PACKED full of technique! This class has run multiple times with great success and if you haven't tried it, don't hold back!
Judy's Magic Cast-On, German Short Rows and a nice, stretchy bind-off are all worked on two circular needles (or double-pointed, if you prefer).  Worsted weight yarn makes this a quick and rugged pair of socks.
Thursdays, October 5, 7-9pm, October 12 & 19, 7-8:30pm    $36

jolly wee elf
with marlene

These elves are like potato chips....you can't make just one! They are fun and have a few little hidden techniques, too. The pattern is written for 2 weights of yarn, but you can up-size easily for any weight, so ANY SCRAP YARN you have will work!!!! I'm about to cast on a giant one tonight!
