Happy November!

It's getting colder outside, we are fast approaching the holiday season, and we at Dedicated to Make a Change want to share a few things we are thankful for. We give thanks for the awesome participants, mentors, tutors, interns, and volunteers that help keep us running. We are also thankful for our sponsors, donors,  participants' parents and guardians, and supporters whom we couldn't do without. From coming by to visit, to donating items for the clubhouse, to just reading our monthly newsletter, we appreciate everything you do to support DTMAC!

We have several events coming up this month. In H.O.P.E., the Open House at 2:30 pm on November 14th. The Ethics Bowl kickoff event is at U of M on November 8th from 1-4 pm.

We also have several T.R.A.P. events happening this month, including going to the EMU Rec Center -- Nov. 7 at 2:30 pm. We will also be seeing a concert at the Neutral Zone on Nov. 13 at 7 pm, featuring DTMAC members Max Bonilla and Nils Wilcoxen. We are having a movie night on November 14th. Following the Open House, parents can leave participants at the clubhouse for an evening of movies, popcorn, and fun! On Nov. 20 at 5 pm, w e will take a trip to Detroit for a tree lighting ceremony.

Several people from DTMAC attended the NAACP Ball on October 24th at EMU. Justin Thomas, a DTMAC participant, was one of the speakers at the event.

We are planning a Spring Break trip to Washington, D.C., where we will be visiting places like the Smithsonian Institutes, Cheney and Howard Universities, and the White House. The trip will be from April 2nd through the 9th. We will be staying at a youth hostel. Please click HERE for more information. To start fundraising for the trip, we are collaborating with Syracuse Cultural Workers to have an online sale of their products. All you have to do to support it is go on  www.syracuseculturalworkers.com   and use the code 1516DMC  when purchasing some of their awesome products, and some of the proceeds will go to helping youth go on the trip! It's a great way to help out while also getting great products, just in time for the holiday season.

We welcome Tenaya Robinson, and Zach Simon to the clubhouse. We're excited to have them working with us!

DTMAC will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from November 25th to 27th. We hope everyone has a great holiday and long weekend. We hope your holiday season is full of joy, hope, good people, and great food!
