Our Stories

The courtroom was packed, as usual. Standing room only. Nothing new there: crunched shoulder-to-shoulder with complete strangers that shared at least one thing in common--anxiety about the outcome from the day’s proceedings. As the docket is called, some receive instructions to appear in another court room.

Help Wanted

Approximately 35% of our incarcerated clients do not have a high school education. Many who study to obtain a high school equivalency diploma are released before passing the test. It is our goal that ALL clients pass the test before release.

In a partnership with Read to Succeed, we will provide one-on-one tutoring for incarcerated individuals to make this goal a reality. To find out how you can get involved, please email [email protected] or
call our office at (615) 900-0634.

100+ Women Who Care
Maridel Williams, Executive Director of Doors of Hope, received a jaw-dropping surprise when Nashville-based “100+ Women Who Care” visited her weekly team meeting.  Williams knew the group was planning to come by to learn more about the organization.  She did not know that Doors of Hope had been selected to receive a very generous gift.

Our Mission:
We seek to reduce the recidivism rate by offering wraparound re-entry services that empower clients to make peace with the past, progress for today,
and plans for a better future.
