If you missed the Parent Meeting and Prayer Service . . .
The St. Paul Religious Education Parent Handbook was sent home with your child. If you did not receive your copy, please contact our office.

First Communion Families
If you missed the parent meeting about preparing your child for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (a child's First Confession is made before First Communion), the books and schedule of information you will need were handed out. We will send these materials home with your child this coming week so please be on the lookout for them.

All Parents Who Volunteer at St. Paul
The Protecting God's Children Workshop is coming up at St. Paul on Thursday, October 20th at 6:30 pm. This workshop is invaluable for all parents and a requirement for any adult volunteer in St. Paul Parish whose work puts them in contact with children here at St. Paul or any other parish or organization in the Archdiocese of Detroit. There is no charge. If you have already taken this workshop, it is not necessary to repeat it. To register on line go to :  http://virtusonline.org.

Confirmation Retreat for 8th graders coming up November 12th-13th
If you missed the parent meeting, you missed the announcement about the Confirmation Retreat, a requirement for all 8th graders planning to be confirmed in May. Please mark your calendars for this overnight retreat, November 12th-13th. A mailing containing Confirmation information and forms will be mailed on Friday, October 7th so you should receive it early next week.

Service Leaders Meeting for Seventh and Eighth Grade Parents
We offer our seventh and eighth grade parents the opportunity to be a 'Service Leader' for various Christian Service projects. Parents may select from an established list of potential opportunities, or plan their own activity. This will allow parents to lead one or more activities throughout the year without making a long-term commitment. Additional information will be provided at our upcoming Service-Leader Meetings scheduled for Monday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. or Tuesday, October 18th at 5:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Canfield Center. Please contact Tricia Kesteloot in the Religious Education Office if you have any questions about this program (885-7022, ext 126).  Click here for Fall Service Opportunities.

Bibles for 7th Graders
On October 10th and 11th, Msgr. Halfpenny will present every 7th grader in our program with a personal copy of The Catholic Teen Bible. These will be theirs to keep and use during Confirmation preparation and in the years to follow. The purchase of these bibles was made possible by the generous contribution of the St. Paul Golf Outing.

Altar Server Training
If you have a son or daughter in grades 4-8 who would like to be trained as an Altar Server, please join Fr. Joseph in the Church on:

Wednesday, October 26th, 4:30 pm - 6 pm
Saturday, October 29th, 9:30 am - 11 am

If you are currently an Altar Server and would like a "refresher," join us too!

Halloween Candy Collection
Sacred Heart Major Seminary provides a safe venue for needy kids in their neighborhood to trick-or-treat on Halloween. They have about 1500 children come to the Seminary. They need help from all of us to provide the candy. Please contribute a bag of candy to help their efforts. Boxes will be placed outside of the School and Religious Ed offices and in the Church Gathering Space for your donation. Thank you for your generous hearts!
