McHenry County's New Front Door
The new Tollway exchange at Route 23 and I-90 in Marengo will be the only entrance to McHenry County. The addition will open a host of new development and business opportunities for Marengo and the entire County. It will encourage commercial and industrial development that will promote job opportunities and the convenience of more goods and services.

Premier Commercial Realty has been selected to market four properties located at the exchange site that will serve as commercial and industrial sites.  Premier was successful in closing a 34.8 acre parcel at the new exchange and will be marketing the development opportunities at the exchange for the purchaser. You may contact Tina Kropke or Heather Schweitzer for more information.
Land development is on the move. We have land opportunities throughout the County that include fully developed commercial and industrial Sites next to the new Stryker/Sage expansion, farms contiguous on the east side of Huntley ready for development, land with rail possibilities in Ridgefield, Etc..

Suburban Office Vacancy Hits a 3-Year High
By: Bruce Kaplan

A review of a 10/9 Crains Chicago Business article online by Danny Ecker reveals a startling revelation.  Actually, it isn't a surprise to our brokers who have been watching office space inventories outstrip demand for 9 years. Overall, the suburban office vacancy rate was reported as 23.6% in the third quarter which was up from 20.6% in the previous quarter. That is saying nearly 1 out of every 4 square feet of office space in the suburban Chicago market is vacant. People ask me why that is happening - Hasn't the economy bounced back from the 2008 recession? It is possible we are experiencing a new norm in office space utilization? Downsizing, consolidation and "less is more" mentalities are changing the paradigm. Working from home or from Starbucks is gaining more traction. Every square foot of office space costs money and companies are finding ways to shed overhead by operating more efficiently or moving to less expensive markets. Maybe we are overly optimistic, but if the new tax code gets implemented, the supply and demand ratio may be reset. In the meantime, every day we will work hard to lease or sell our office product for our clients.
