Indigenous People's Day

Bring the entire family out to celebrate Indigenous People's Day. Enjoy arts and crafts while taking in a variety of entertainment including Native American and The Little Thunderbirds drum and dance performances.





Dia De Los Muertos
October 23 - November 1 

Don't miss all the festivities Midtown Global Market has to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. See the ofrenda starting October 23rd. On Friday, October 30th children can come out and decorate a Dia De Los Muertos mask. Be sure to join the fun on Sunday, November 1st at 11 a.m. when vendors will be giving out free samples of popular foods and don't miss Kalpulli Ketzalcoatlicue dance at 11:30 a.m.





Boo! Trick or Treat at MGM
Saturday, October 31 
    
Bring your cleverest costume and a big ol' candy bag to Midtown Global Market on Halloween for a chance to load up on treats from around the world. Keep your eyes peeled for vendors with Halloween balloons because their counters will have jack o' lanterns full of sweets! We'll see you 'scare'!

Save the date for the Global Chili Cook-Off, Saturday, November 7. Vendors from around the market will cook up their best chili recipes for you to sample and vote on your favorite!

CREATIVE CITY ROAD MAP EXHIBITION AND "LOOP BACK" EVENT


Join Creative City Road Map Artist Engagement Team members, Sha Cage and E.G. Bailey, with community guest, Alejandra Tobar-Alatriz for a bi-lingual "loop back" event in Midtown Global Market's indoor central plaza from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on October 12, 2015. In addition, visit the Creative City Road Map exhibition during October 6-12 at Midtown Global Market (on display at the art wall by Kitchen in the Market).
 
The Creative City Road Map is a citywide plan that identifies the potential for art and creativity to strengthen the city's economic and social development & connect people across differences of race, income, culture and age to foster deeper and more lasting relationships over the next 10 years.

BACKYARD INITIATIVE CHAT TEAMS



 

Our neighbors and partners, Allina Health and the Cultural Wellness Center invite you to stop by the Backyard Initiative Resource Center located near the Lake Street entra nce of Midtown Global Market. The Backyard Initiative currently hosts 12 CHATS, each with a different focus for maintaining and improving both individual and community health. Make sure you check out the resource center next time you're at the Market!

Looking for health insurance and having a hard time navigating the website? The BYI Resource Center has representatives from Portico, a non-profit organization that helps folks find the best fit. They are at the Resource Center every Wednesday, from 1-4 p.m. to help you find health insurance coverage to fit your needs and budget. Call for an appointment at 612-353-6211. Translation available upon request.


There are lots of great events coming up with the Backyard Initiative Chat Teams. Make sure to stop  by on Wednesday's and Friday's to pick up some healthy snacks from the Farmers Market. Also, m ake sure to stop by the Backyard Initiative for a brunch on October 18. Tickets are $25 and include brunch and live entertainment. You will not want to miss it!
