Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) takes place each October to raise awareness about this important issue. We've curated this list of books to help raise attention about domestic violence (DV). Over the past 30+ years, much progress has been made to support DV victims and survivors, to hold abusers accountable, and to create and update legislation to further those goals. NEW! New Rochelle Plays Hollywood Classic Film Club

This new film program begins Sunday, October 18, 2:00 pm. with the screening of classic film, Naked City. Each session will open with comments on the film and its creative personnel and will be followed by a post screening discussion with film aficionado Les Srager. Learn more. The Women and Money Round Table (virtual) series, Wednesday, October 12, 1:00 pm is a monthly financial literacy program designed to educate women of any age about the financial matters that affect their lives. Learn more and register here

The Films of Alfred Hitchcock, Thursday, October 13, 7:00 pm. In this virtual presentation Fordham communications professor emeritus Brian Rose looks at Hitchcock's achievements as “the master of suspense,” and through dozens of film clips, examines his extraordinary creativity as one of the 20th century’s greatest filmmakers. A Look Back...

Thanks to the hundreds of members of the community who filled the Library for a day of family fun at Family Fair 2022. 

We had magic, carnival games, costumes, manga art, dancing and posing for photos with Spider-Man, and very cool balloon sculptures. See more photos here.

Two lucky raffle winners took home Spider-Man LEGO/DUPLO sets. 

Holiday Closings

Join us on Tuesdays, beginning October 18, 6:30 - 7:30 pm, to practice conversational English in a relaxed and fun environment. The Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library gratefully accepts book donations at the Main Branch of the Library, during regular operating hours. 


Book donations are not accepted at the Huguenot Children's Library.
