This Sunday we welcome back Dr. Byron Shafer.
Sermon Notes: A number of Jesus' contemporaries thought he was mad! We will reflect on both Mark 3:19b-21, 31-35 and Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871), a novel by Lewis Carroll (the nom de plume of an Oxford don, the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who was a mathematician and a deacon in the Church of England).
This Sunday is also Healing Prayers. You are welcome to come forward for prayers of Healing, Wholeness and Thanksgiving during the final hymns

AMPED Vacation Bible School
Live Fully Alive!
Our new curriculum centers on faith and encourages hands-on learning and fun!
AMPED VBS will help children understand why God wants each of us to be FILLED with CONFIDENCE. He wants us to LIVE FULLY ALIVE, because we can believe that what He says is TRUE!
Each day we will worship, experience a new Bible story, watch a video, create a craft, enjoy snack, learn new songs with exciting dance moves, and play a game. Thursday night will be family night.
For our Mission Project, we will supply special items for backpacks (i.e. pajamas, pillow pets, pillow buddy, stuffed animal, blanket, child's book) to be given to temporarily homeless children who participate with their families in our Interfaith Hospitality Network throughout the year.
AMPED VBS is designed for children who have completed grades K-5 and for preschoolers 3 - 5 years old. Vacation Bible School begins on Monday, August 13 and continues through Friday, August 17, 2018. Hours are 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.

Summer Bible Study - Changed Time
At the request of many of you there will be a Summer Bible study.
By popular demand, we will use a book we have used before called "Embracing Forgiveness." This is a 5 week study that will be held on each Monday during the month of July. The first class will be July 2nd at 11:
You are welcome to bring a lunch or perhaps some would like to go out to lunch afterward.
If you would like us to order a book for you for $10, please let Linda Chase know or you may order yours directly
Barbara Cawthorne Crafton, begins the study Embracing Forgiveness, with clarity that eases the guilt often associated with the lack of forgiveness by saying what it isn't. It is not a job or task; it is not a conditional act to earn God's love. It is, Crafton believes, a spiritual gift given freely by a God who simply wants to connect with us.
This Week at Point Beach Prep
This week was color week. We wore red
on Monday, orange
on Tuesday, yellow on Wednesday, green
on Thursday and blue
on Friday. It was fun to see everyone dressed similarly! We played color matching games. We made projects that included Clifford, Nemo and Minions. We also made Father's Day surprises. We read Red Leaf Yellow Leaf, The Crayon Box That Talked, The Mixed Up Chameleon, and Mouse Paint. We sang The Colors of the Rainbow,Color Farm,Gummy Bear Song, and If You're Wearing Red. We learned the colors in Spanish and English.
Next week is our last week of school! Our Pre-K has been practicing for their graduation ceremony. Our Nursery class is looking forward to their end of year ice cream party.
Time flies when you are having fun!
Sunday School News
Last week we had a great time wrapping up our Sunday School year by learning about what it means to be a disciple and a leader. We had some great discussions about the definitions of these two words and how they relate to us. Then we talked a lot about how we can be good disciples!
This week, it is time to Par-Tay!! We will be holding our annual End of Year Pot Luck Party! Everyone is encouraged to bring a breakfast item or treat to share with the group. This is always such a fun note to end the year on.
Hope to see you all this weekend!
Peace and Blessings
