BIG FREEDIA HITS FUSE TV THIS FALL

The queen diva of New Orleans bounce, Big Freedia, is about to become a TV star. The Fuse TV network announced this week that Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce will premiere on Wednesday, September 18.

Freedia's outsized personality will likely shine in a show that follows her and cohorts Mr. Ghetto, Sissy Nobby and others as they struggle to take their music to the next level of success. The days when sissy bounce was strictly an underground phenomenon are officially over. MORE...

Thankfully, I'm not the only media person who's stood up for the idea of legalizing marijuana (both usage and sales). The TP has allowed editorials from Jarvis deBerry (and also from James Gill, who has now decamped for the Advocate). I think it's ridiculous and disingenuous for anyone in this day and age to decry marijuana legalization.

No longer a subdude,  Tommy Malone talks about his newest recording on MC Records. It's been a long road back from Katrina and he's reconnected with his brother Dave after the break-up of the Radiators, spent time writing songs in Nashville, and is collaborating with old friend Jim Scheurich.
