2014-2015 Leadership Academy Online Registration Now Available!

 

FCCLA members may now register for online-only completion of the First-Class Leader and Ultimate Leader concentrations of the FCCLA Leadership Academy. Each concentration costs $10 and gives participants access to 10 courses of their choice. Ultimate Leader participants must take half of their courses at the 300-400 level. Enrollment will be available until February 28, 2015 and all  courses must be complete by May 31, 2015 for recognition.

Online STAR Events Registrations -

Deadline February 1

 

Chapters submitting Level I entries in the three online STAR Events - Digital Stories for Change, FCCLA Chapter Website, and No Kid Hungry National Outreach Project - are now able to submit entry forms through links on the national website.

 

Registration is through an online form and all chapters will be invoiced after the February 1 deadline. The registration fee is $20 per person. The online registration links are posted on the STAR Events page of the national FCCLA website. 

Endowment Scholarships Available

 

The Ohio FCCLA Endowment annually awards ten$500.00 scholarships. Candidates applying may attend a certificated program, technical school, a two-year postsecondary school or a four-year postsecondary school. Awards will be granted upon successful completion of the first semester of studies or upon successful completion of a program. Scholarships will be paid to individuals or educational facility for use toward tuition, books and or/room and board, Student must maintain a 2.5GPA. Scholarship money will be dispersed no later than February of the following year. Recipients must send necessary information to the treasurer of the Endowment for payment; information will be provided with the awarded scholarship. All applications are due March 1, 2015 and can be found at www.ohiofccla.com under the About FCCLA tab - Endowment Board

Regional Officer Candidates

 
Regional Officers will be elected at Regional Conference this year. If a candidate receives a Regional Officer position they may not apply for State Officer in the same year. The application and recommendation must be completed and returned to [email protected]; subject line Regional Officer by January 21, 2015. The term of this office is from February 2015 through February 2016. Official uniform will be red polo shirt and black pants/skirt.
 

Officer responsibilities include attending:

  • June Officer Leadership Training
  • Leadership Training in October
  • REC and SEC Council Meeting in December
  • Regional Conference 2016
  • State Leadership Conference (with specific duties to follow).

  

State Officer Candidates 
  

Save the date for March 14th! New this year: any FCCLA member interesting in running for the State Executive Council is invited to participate in a practice interview day where you will be introduced and coached on the areas of the state interview process. More detailed information to come.

FCCLA Board of Directors

 

Even numbered regions will elect an advisor to the Board of Directors at Regional Meetings.  This is a great leadership opportunity for an adviser to help structure the future of FCCLA in Ohio.  There are three meetings a year (June, December and February).  Demonstrate to your students how to be a viable part of a growing organization!  Applications are due by February 1, 2015 to [email protected] subject line: BOD Application.

Hospitality and Tourism - Culinary Arts Seminar

The Culinary Arts Teacher Seminar is January 16, 2015 at Eastland Fairfield Career Center. Registration is through STARS on the ODE website under your SAFE Account. Lunch is $10.00 and payable that day. CEU's will be available. Below is the tentative agenda.
