New Teacher Meeting
The second new Family and Consumer Sciences teacher meeting will be held January 27, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Ohio FFA Center. Provided is a tentative agenda for this meeting. Lunch will be ordered day of event, and please bring $10. All checks should be made payable to Ohio FCCLA.

Family and Consumer Sciences WebXam test registration 
The new Family and Consumer Sciences End of Course Test are currently in field testing. We recommend that teachers who are currently teaching any of the new courses distribute the test at the end of the first semester and again for second semester. The second semester students must complete the test by May 10. 2017.

When registering students, you must follow the instruction linked below in order to find the Family and Consumer Sciences courses. If you have any issues with this process, please contact webXam for further assistance. http://news.webxam.org/assigning-tests/

Regional Conference
Regional Conference registration will be open January 4, 2017 and close on January 27, 2017. Each Regional Conference will include two keynote speeches from State Executive Council members, interactive workshops and a service learning activity. This three-hour conference is a great opportunity for students to network and develop leadership skills. Registration fee is $10 per attendee.

Career Development Event name changes are able to be made in the CDE registration system until January 20th. After this date all name changes will be made at the competition site.

Service Learning Portal
FCCLA members perform hundreds and thousands of volunteer hours each year. Ohio FCCLA invites members to track these service hours through the Service Learning Portal. The tracking period is August 1, 2016 through March 1, 2017. The top 3 chapters and the top 3 individuals who track the most hours will be recognized at State Leadership Conference for their dedication to service in their local communities.

Ohio FCCLA members have tracked 2,428 hours so far this year! Help us reach our goal of 10,000 hours. Visit the Service Learning page to get your students involved.
Outstanding Chapter Evaluation
Congratulations to all of the chapters who are participating in the new Outstanding Chapter Award. All participants will present their project at their assigned Regional Competitive Events. An official announcement of Awardees will be made by the middle of March at the same time all state qualifiers are announced.
Ohio FCCLA Day with the Cavs
Annual FCCLA Day with the Cavs will be held at Quicken Loans Arena before the defending NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, March 31st! Attached to this email is the flyer and more information regarding the event.

Ohio FCCLA Endowment
If you are a senior preparing to graduate and continue your education, the Ohio FCCLA Endowment has several scholarships available to you.
The Ohio FCCLA Endowment annually awards ten $500.00 scholarships. Candidates applying may attend a certificated program, technical school, a two-year post- secondary school or a four-year post-secondary school.
To qualify for the scholarship an applicant must:
  1. Be an affiliated FCCLA member.
  2. Complete the scholarship application form.
  3. Has been an active membership of FCCLA.
  4. Has excelled in leadership.
  5. Complete the application process including: Application form, 3 Recommendation forms (1 administrator and 2 other adults), transcript (2.5 GPA), and a photograph electronically submitted
Applications are available at the Ohio Endowment website ( www.ohiofcclaendowment.com). All applications are due by March 1, 2017.  Apply today.
The endowment assists Ohio FCCLA Association in its mission to develop bright, responsible leaders.  The endowment has supported the organization through the awarding of scholarships, chapter grants, leadership development, and recognition awards for individuals and chapters.
