Media Literacy Lessons Webinar

National Leadership Conference Ohio Package

National Leadership Conference Ohio Package Registration will be open till May 15, 2015 at 5:00 P.M.  All National Leadership Conference attendees must order an Ohio Package.  Cost is $75.00 per attendee.  Registration is now open.

Ohio FCCLA Endowment Contest May 1 to May 31, 2015

The FCCLA Endowment Foundation needs the help of Ohio FCCLA members and their families, advisers and friends of Ohio FCCLA. We are eligible and have the opportunity to win $10,000, $5,000 or $2,500 for the FCCLA Endowment by just clicking "Like". A contest photo album is being created on the Facebook Page of the Lorain County Community Foundation, the group who invests our endowed dollars. So from May 1st to May 31st, we need everyone to visit the site and click in the photo album for Ohio FCCLA. (OATFACS) Summer Conference

IMPACT 2015:  Career Tech Education through FCS is the must attend conference for all FCS teachers.  Big changes are happening throughout all of FCS including moving to courses and new courses offerings.  Don't be the one teacher left out of knowing all the current changes in FCS programming.  

Special guest speakers this year include Sandy Spavone National Director for FCCLA and Dr. Nancy Franz on presenting the professional image of FCS.

Breakout sessions will include subject matter specialists to fine tune your content knowledge and technology sessions to add new techniques to your teaching strategies.

Sophomore wins $20.000 scholarship from H&R Block

IHHS Sophomore Matt Weisfelder recently gave his personal college fund a big bump - with a $20,000 scholarship he won through the H&R Block Budget Challenge,  a teen financial literacy program that rewards high school students and classes for mastering real-world budgeting and personal finance decision-making. Matt is one of 66 winners nationwide. For more information.

Lorain County Joint Vocational School Honored with National Excellence in Action Award

April 9, 2015 - Washington, D.C. - Today, nine programs were recognized as "Excellence in Action" award winners, representing the best Career Technical Education (CTE) has to offer. These programs of study were selected based on their uniquely inventive and effective approaches to stimulating student learning, offering extensive work-based learning experiences and increasing student postsecondary and career prospects. Among the winners was Lorain County Joint Vocational School's (LCJVS) Culinary Arts Academy in Oberlin, Ohio. For more information.
