LMP Progress Updates
Here are a few quick updates on what happened with the Liquor Modernization Project last week.
  • Training continues to progress. Last week, auditors, liaisons, back office staff and compliance officers went through a training pilot on daily business tasks, reporting and inventory counting. The training pilot helped identify tweaks for Agency training and has prepared the staff to support Agencies through deployment and after. Many suppliers also completed training, and can now access the system to manage their inventory.

  • Agency training begins this week and is critical to Agencies’ understanding of the system. While we’re trying to accommodate requests for changes, the schedule is very tight because it’s tied to individual deployment dates and classroom space is limited.

  • The Green warehouse went live early and began receiving product. There was testing and training last week in preparation for this milestone.

 LMP Website

Agencies can always find up-to-date information on the LMP website. We recently updated the site to include stats on our progress on stocking up the warehouses, installing Wi-Fi in Agencies, inventory stocking and redeploying handheld scanners to Agencies. We’ll be tracking our progress on rolling Agencies on to the new system as well. Visit OhioLMP.com for more information.

Liquor Enterprise Service Center

The Liquor Enterprise Service Center received more than 250 emails and calls since March 30. This 24-hour operation is fully staffed and will be a vital tool for all Agencies and stakeholders.

Wholesale Terminals Being Deployed

Agencies that service wholesale accounts will receive a new, separate wholesale terminal exclusively for processing wholesale orders. Delivery of wholesale terminals begins this week. Agencies will be notified in advance of when their wholesale terminal will be installed.

Each Agency will receive only one wholesale terminal on which wholesale orders must be created (using a laptop or other device to create orders will not work once your Agency transitions to the new system). The new terminal will be pre-configured to interface with the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform.

Agencies Prepare Inventory Stock for Transition

Agencies will have a suspended ordering window between the last delivery from their current warehouse and the first delivery from their new warehouse in order to allow the new system to stabilize. A “stock uplift” is recommended for this transition.

The Division of Liquor Control (DOLC) Agency Operations has been and will continue to send emails to Agencies with its recommended uplift. Agencies can preview that uplift recommendation by visiting www.OhioLMP.com and entering their Agency number where prompted. Then, click on the “Uplift” link located in the calendar on the date showing the Final 1.5 Order. Agencies may request adjustments to the DOLC recommendation if needed.

Training Begins This Week

To help Agencies succeed when Phase 2 of the Liquor Modernization Project (LMP) rolls out, the Liquor Enterprise will offer instructor-led training on the Microsoft Dynamics Enterprise Portal (think of it as an improved portal), the new wholesale terminal, and hand-held scanners beginning tomorrow.

The training sessions will be held in several locations across the state and will require a full day, starting promptly at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. At least one representative from each Agency is required to attend – and we recommend that a second representative from the Agency attend another session on a different date. The representative(s) will receive information and materials to train the rest of their Agency staff.

Agencies will receive information via email and U.S. mail about their assigned training date and location a month before they are scheduled to move to the new system. Once a date and location are assigned, Agencies also can see that by visiting www.OhioLMP.com and entering  their Agency number where prompted. The date will be displayed in the calendar.

Agency Best Practices

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action).

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
