An improving safety climate, good fiscal management and better than expected investment returns have resulted in the State Insurance Fund having a net position and, for the third time in four years, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will return more than $1 billion dollars to Ohio's private and public employers.
The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will be issuing rebates for the period ending 6/30/16 equal to 66% of the premiums paid for employees on record as of 6/2/16. Checks should start being sent out in early July. An estimated $967 million of the rebate would go to private employers and $133 million to public employer taxing districts.
