Old Woodward Reconstruction Project Update - 5/3/18 afternoon
Water reconnections/shutoffs planned for Friday, May 4, 2018

The contractor had planned to disconnect several buildings from the old water system and reconnect each to the new system today, Thurs. May 3, 2018. As noted in prior alerts, this process requires that the water service for each building must be turned off. In most cases, the water shutoff period is relatively short. However, given the unexpected variables associated with underground construction work, the water shutoffs could take up to two hours.

Some of the larger water connections are being done today, despite the bad weather. However, other water connections slated for today are not able to be done due to the weather, and are now set for Friday, May 4, 2018. The revised, planned water connections from the old system to the new are as follows:

On the west side of Old Woodward water shutoffs and reconnections are planned for the street, for 167 to 239 N. Old Woodward Ave.  On the east side of the street, water shut offs and reconnections are planned for 124 to 172 N. Old Woodward Ave. Work is anticipated to begin at 7:30 a.m. to try and minimize impact as much as possible.

The City thanks you for your patience and understanding as it works to complete this most difficult phase of the project as fast as possible and with as minimal inconvenience as possible.
