With all the work completed to date, much has been accomplished on the Old Woodward Reconstruction Project the last four months. We are now in the home stretch, with a number of closing jobs to be done in order to thoroughly complete the project the right way the remainder of this week and next week (week of 8/6/18).

Plans are in place to complete the installation of streetscape furnishings as well as complete the electrical, irrigation and landscape work. In addition, parking meter posts and heads will be installed along with the new pavement markings. Further, DTE Energy crews will work to supply power to traffic lights and other needed items in downtown. It is exciting to see the new downtown emerging and will be equally exciting once the project is thoroughly completed.
Businesses are OPEN
during construction and need your support. Enjoy
parking for two hours at locations near the construction zone. In closing, a reminder from the Birmingham Shopping District (BSD) regarding the Birmingham Bonus Bucks (BBB) program:
Birmingham Shopping District Merchants:
Thanks again for helping to promote the Birmingham Bonus Bucks (BBB) program. It was very well received. The BSD wanted to make sure that you know that Sunday, July 15th was the last day for shoppers to submit receipts to earn BBB's. The BSD is no longer issuing any BBB's.
Business reimbursements of Birmingham Bonus Bucks must be turned in to the BSD office at City Hall, 151 Martin Street in downtown Birmingham, by
August 15, 2018 for reimbursement.
Be sure to save the date for next Saturday, August 11, 2018. The City will officially cut the ribbon, ushering in the new era of downtown Birmingham. The ceremony starts at 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Old Woodward and Maple.
