Host a Curry Student Intern

Internships allow students to learn valuable professional skills while helping employers fill key roles within their organizations.

Does your company have an opportunity for a talented Curry College student to take part in an internship?

If your company has interest in taking part, please email the Center for Career Development or call 617-333-2195.

NETWORKING NIGHT
Encourage your student to attend this beneficial learning opportunity tonight, February 22
On Monday, February 22, the Office of Alumni Relations in partnership with the Center for Career Development, will host the 2nd annual Networking Night. Students will have the opportunity to hear from and network with successful young alumni from a variety of majors and industries.

Encourage your student to attend this event where they can obtain valuable career insight and post-graduate advice. Networking Night is open to students of all class years and will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the ARC (south side of campus).

IMPORTANT HOUSING REMINDER
Students must pay housing deposit by March 25 to participate in housing selection for 2016-2017 academic year
If your student plans on living on campus next year, they must pay an on-time housing deposit by March 25 in order to participate in the housing selection. A $300 non-refundable housing deposit can be paid online through the myCurry portal or in person at the Student Financial Services Office.

Students must have a zero balance in order to receive a randomized housing lottery number that allows them to participate in housing selection. Students whose deposits are late will be housed as spaces become available later in the semester or over the summer.

NEW ACCOUNTING & LEADERSHIP MAJORS ADDED
Two new majors have been approved for fall 2016 launch
Curry College has enhanced its undergraduate degree program offerings with the addition of two new academic majors - a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership.

The launch of these new academic majors reflect, in part, the progress of the College's Strategic Plan, Values, Voices, Vision, and follows the 2015 launch of new majors in Biochemistry and Mobile Application Development.

The Accounting degree program is structured to help students build a strong foundation for an accounting career, including preparation for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. It will be offered to both traditional undergraduate students attending full-time daytime classes and to adult students in the College's Division of Continuing and Graduate Studies.

The Leadership major is an interdisciplinary program designed through the collaboration of the College's Business Management, Communication, and Psychology departments. The program prepares students for supervisory management or administrative leadership positions, and will be offered initially in an accelerated format to Continuing Education students who have an associate degree or equivalent (60 earned college credits).

COMMUNICATION STUDENTS MAKE FINALS IN NATIONAL MEDIA COMPETITION
Curry College COM department recognized as finalists in National Broadcasting Society's annual student competition
Two staples of the Curry College Communication department's Television/Digital Video and Film tracks are being recognized at a national level.

The student-run news program, "Curry Prime Time Report," and the most recent student-produced film from the RED Camera class, "Reflexivity," are both finalists in their respective categories in the National Broadcasting Society's annual student competition.

"For student work to be nominated at the national level is impressive," said Professor Jerry Gibbs, director of the TV/Digital Video concentration. "Our students are constantly striving to be their best and they put this effort into everything they do, especially in the TV Practicum course."

The winners will be announced at NBS's annual conference in March in Los Angeles.
