FAMILY PORTAL LAUNCHES
The myCurry portal for families is now available
At Curry College, we believe that parents and family members are key partners in our students' college success.  We are committed to providing families with appropriate information and support to help them help their student develop independence, knowledge, and life-long success.

We are excited to announce the launch of the myCurry family portal. The family portal provides a way for parents and family members to access information about Curry College and available resources. Students also have the ability to authorize parents and family members to view their grades, academic schedule, and/or student financial information.

Students can request an account for a parent or family member by:
  • Logging into the myCurry portal
  • Clicking on the myInfo tab
  • Clicking on the myFamily access link
If you need assistance setting up myFamily Access, please call 617-333-2911.
NEW SEMESTER & FRESH START
Ensure your student is utilizing the resources available
The new year and new semester bring fresh opportunities and challenges for everyone. Winter break provided a great time to talk with your student about their experiences during the fall semester, and for you and your student to re-evaluate academic, family, financial, social, and personal needs.

Was your student able to locate and utilize campus resources as needed? Were budgets managed appropriately? Did your student excel in or struggle with time management or study skills?

If your student had difficulty in any of these areas, a new semester provides the chance for a new beginning.

Encourage your student to take advantage of all the academic resourcesstudent activities, and student services on campus to make the most of the spring semester!

STUDENT CHECK-IN
Residence Halls are scheduled to reopen on Sunday, January 24
We hope your student had a restful and relaxing winter break! We are gearing up for an exciting spring semester, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 25, 2016.

Before returning, students should visit the myCurry portal to verify their check-in location.  Students who have a hold on their account need to visit the Registrar's Office on Sunday, January 24 in order to complete their check-in.

Residence halls re-open on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. for returning students and 9:00 a.m. for all new students. Residential students  may return to halls once any holds on their accounts have been cleared, and will be required to check in with hall staff prior to moving back into their rooms.

Please note, a student's check-in location may be in a different residence hall than their housing assignment.

IMPORTANT HOUSING REMINDER
Students must pay housing deposit by March 25 to participate in housing selection for 2016-2017 academic year
If your student plans on living on campus next year, they must pay an on-time housing deposit between January 25 and March 25 in order to participate in the housing selection. A $300 non-refundable housing deposit can be paid online through the myCurry portal or in person at the Student Financial Services Office.

Students must have a zero balance in order to receive a randomized housing lottery number that allows them to participate in housing selection. Students whose deposits are late will be housed as spaces become available later in the semester or over the summer.

CURRY SPOTLIGHT: ELIZABETH EDDY '11
Meet Elizabeth Eddy '11, ORISE Research Participant for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Elizabeth Eddy's path to professional success began when she made the choice to pursue her passion for the sciences at Curry College.

"I spent my freshman year at a large New England college where there were around 200 students in many of my science classes. I didn't get much individual attention. When I did, my advisor actually suggested that maybe I wasn't cut out for the field," she recalls.

Finding her situation unacceptable, Liz immediately began applying to smaller schools, including one just a few miles from her hometown of Boston.

"The process of transferring to Curry College was so easy and convenient for me at the time.  They sent me a hand written note along with my acceptance letter saying 'Congratulations!' I really felt like they wanted to have me there."

Today, Liz calls Washington, D.C. home and is an ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) Research Participant at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  The position is one she secured through a fellowship granted by Oak Ridge following her graduate studies.
