Fellowship Hall

June 4 is Pentecost Sunday, the day we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit's presence and the birth of the Church. Adult classes are being suspended for the morning and children and youth will join the festivities for part of the hour, enabling us to celebrate together as a whole community.
  • 10:15 - Hear the good news about exciting and fruitful ministries the Spirit is empowering in and through our congregation. Learn about volunteer and education opportunities.
  • 10:35 - Sunday School children and youth will share a brief presentation creatively retelling the story of Pentecost.
  • 10:45 - Fellowship time with cake and "birthday" gifts for all.
Please plan to worship at either 9 or 11:15 a.m. and join in the festivities in Fellowship Hall. See you Sunday!
Church Conference Approves Mortgage Refinancing

Last Sunday, a special Church Conference approved refinancing the $1.5 million building mortgage. Refinancing will occur on June 30. Any donations received toward "Principal Reduction" during the month of June will help lower the current mortgage prior to refinancing.  Please prayerfully consider making a one-time contribution prior to June 30 to reduce the principal of the new mortgage to save interest and retire the mortgage sooner.

Education/Formation, Direct Involvement, and Advocacy are three distinct, yet inter-connected avenues that have been identified for our congregation's continued engagement in the work of addressing racial equity. This summer we have opportunity for Direct Involvement. The STARS program (Summer Teaching to Advance Reading Success) prepares pre-kindergarten and kindergarten-ready students for success in school. Volunteer to help young children develop reading, math and social skills. Contact Kathy Carpenter for more information.

"...Unless You're an Astronomer..."

Don't be distracted looking upward for God and miss opportunities to continue Jesus' ministry. Instead, look outward to our beloved community and all the people around us.
First Church Ministries Highlights

During worship we express our appreciation for the wide variety of critical ministries to which our friends and members give their gifts of time and energy as an offering to God. There are many ways we can give to God and serve our neighbors. Maybe you will be inspired!
