No way! How can this be? It seems incredulous to any logical mind. But is it? Isn't this really us? So often we are so engrossed in our daily duties, our business of life and our religion that we do not recognize the presence of Christ with us.

 

The Scriptures put it this way. "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, this is the way, walk in it. Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left." Isaiah 30:21.

God is saying, I will guide you, I will instruct you, I will be by your side and you are not in it alone. But like the disciples on their way to Emmaus, Christ was SECONDARY to them. It took quite a bit before they recognized He had their answers. The biblical record shows that it is all too common for followers to hang around Jesus yet not let Him IN. Think of Judas Iscariot or if that is too alarming think of Peter and many of the other disciples' betrayal of Jesus on the night of His death.

 

It is imperative that we all make the transition from Jesus daily walking unnoticed by our side to His living WITHIN us by His Spirit, moment by moment. That we learn to filter what we say, what we think, and how we carry on our lives through Jesus living His life within us.

 

The secular world has witnessed Jesus left out of our lives and are NOT impressed, nor should they be. A life without Jesus living within us will never ever convince the world of their need of Him. It's time we stop talking and begin allowing our Jesus into our lives, fully and completely. Then the world "will take notice" of Jesus WITHIN us!
