Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce March 9, 2018

Earlier this week, Mayor Cary Glickstein presided over his final Commission meeting as Mayor of Delray Beach.   Cary has served as Mayor since 2013.   The Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce would like to add our special thanks to Mayor Glickstein for his years of service to Delray Beach.

We certainly understand it is no easy task to serve as an elected official, and those that run for office and subsequently serve truly deserve our sincere appreciation for their willingness to share their time and talents with our City in such a capacity.

As we mentioned in our last On The Record newsletter, voting is the ultimate form of advocacy.  While the Chamber does not endorse any candidates, we do encourage all of our members and residents to get to know the candidates, know what they stand for and what their plans are if elected, and then to vote in the March 13th Municipal Election.  With two Commissioners and the Mayor being elected on Tuesday, this election is very important for our City.  You can watch the Chamber's Candidate Forum Video on our Facebook page.

So thank you Mayor Glickstein for your time, passion and service to Delray Beach.  We wish you well in your future endeavors and hope you will remain active in our community.

And to all the candidates in Tuesday's election - thank you for running.  The Chamber looks forward to working with the new Commissioners and all of our elected officials this year to make Delray Beach the best it can be for business, residents and visitors.

News from our City Manager
Friends, Neighbors and Visitors,

It is a great honor to serve as your City Manager and call Delray Beach my new home. I have admired the City from afar for many years and I am proud to be assisting our government and community on continuing to keep the City of Delray Beach America's Most Fun Small City.

Delray Beach is a thriving and growing community, a popular destination for both tourists and new residents. What attracted me most to the "Village by the Sea" was more than just its vibrant, world-class attractions and beaches, but also Delray Beach's rich history, diverse culture and promising future.
While the City has had its challenges, I am confident in our ability to move forward and accomplish great things by communicating and focusing on our strategic priorities which are reviewed annually and set by the City Commission. I am working collaboratively with the City Commission and City staff to help focus our strength, character and passion in achieving all the great things the community desires.
