Sassy Stitches!

I feel like I've traveled the world this week!  Just like our Row X Row theme, I've been ON THE GO!  I went to Mauldin, SC Monday for a Carolina Shop Hop meeting.  Mom and I rode to Hayesville on Tuesday to see Rosie and Susan. Then I had the privilege of going to Canton, NC to speak at the Blue Ridge Mountain Quilter's guild meeting on Thursday. This group also surprised me with a very generous donation of pillow cases for  Ryan's Case for Smiles! Then Jerrie and I went back to Canton on Saturday to teach a Lonestar class on Saturday.  Jerrie did the teaching and I just enjoyed the beautiful fabrics and fun folks. Look at all the beautiful colors! Thanks so much for your hospitality!  Beautiful job, ladies!

Speaking of the shop hop, you are in for a wonderful 2017 Carolina Shop Hop!  We will be displaying our quilts in shops on July 10. All of them are beautiful and different.  We have prizes galore and as usual, every shop will have a notion on sale for 25% off!  SEW much fun!  Make your plans now to hop around to all of our wonderful shops!

Janice Pope will be teaching a class at Sassy Stitches where she will share with you everything you need to know about binding.  You will need to bring something to bind so be thinking about that and make plans to save something just for this class!
Quilting since 1977, students attending her classes describe Janice as passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and engaging. Whether teaching one of her simple quilt patterns, bag patterns, or a technique', novice as well as experienced quilters will leave with new insight and skills.
An award winning quilter who has taught both domestically and internationally, Janice resides in Raleigh, NC with her husband of 35+ years and enjoys having two of her six grandsons nearby. Check out her website at Anything But Boring.

This 3 hour class will be held on Tuesday, June 27th from 10:00-1:00.

Show & Tell
During our visit to the Blue Ridge Mountain Quilters meeting, we got to enjoy their Show & Tell!

Bonnie and her granddaughter enjoyed some sewing time last week.  Look at one of their finished projects!

Ryan's Case for Smiles
Our charity focus at Sassy Stitches is Ryan's Case for Smiles. This is an organization that provides fun pillowcases for sick children .  ALL of our donations will be used in Asheville, NC at Mission Children's Hospital. I volunteered for this charity for several years and have personally delivered pillow cases to kids at Mission Children's Hospital and assure you it brings great joy to sick children to pick out a fun pillowcase. When you read the story about Cindy and her son, Ryan, you will understand what a great cause this is. It's the perfect charity for anyone who sews! Here is a link to the organization's website.
We will accept pillowcases, fabric donations for making pillow cases and monetary donations. If you choose to make pillowcases, there are tips on the website (see link above) about making them. The volunteers who take the pillowcases wash them before delivery. Something so simple as a fun pillowcase really does bring a smile to a sick child.  THANKS!
