visited the Duke Lemur Center (DLC) and learned how DLC con-servation work in Madagascar is community- and human-focused. The DLC-SAVA (Sambava-Andapa-Vohemar-Antalaha) Conservation project supports activities such as family planning, mixed-use reforestation, and fish farming, which have benefits for the local communities and also have an impact on conservation.

lead One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization Workshops around the world for countries that want to prioritize a list of their most urgent zoonotic disease threats. Workshop participants from many different disci-plines identify a country’s top zoonotic diseases for One Health collaborations and develop strategies to protect the health of people, animals, and the envi-ronment.

The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) continues its commitment to address tick-borne diseases by funding critical research to diagnose, prevent and treat tick-borne diseases in dogs. Diseases of interest include ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, hepatozoonosis, babesiosis, bartonellosis, hemotropic mycoplasmosis, and Lyme disease. The Foundation supports a One Health and multi-disciplinary approach to addressing the health needs of all dogs and their people. CHF is seeking innovative approaches to tick-borne diseases, including the study of co-infections. Applications due by July 25, 2018.
