One Is The Loneliest Number! 7/5/15
Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV)
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
I was SHOCKED this week to learn-after FORTY-SIX years of reading my Bible-that Eve- "THE woman whom THOU gavest to be with me" (Gen.3:12), was not present when God told "THE man!"
In fact, she remained to be formed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Genesis 2:21-24 (KJV)
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
God WELL knew that "One is the loneliest number."

18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Now I do not know if "the man/Adam" ever told "THE woman/Eve' what God had instructed and COMMANDED him to do or NOT to do or not????
Or it could have been that Adam DID tell Eve and she either did not hear or "hear/believe/accept/OBEY" the clear COMMANDMENT of God????
Perhaps both of them DID "hear/believe/accept" God's clear Word and decided they did not want to be alone?
Whatever the case, God DID clearly command the man/Adam:

EVERYTHING BUT THAT ONE TREE!!
What part of NO did he/she not get????
Nada/NO/Nothing-leave it be, stay away, NOPE, NO, NO, NO!!!!!
BUT it is inherent in man/woman to WANT the most what we cannot have!!!!
That FORBIDDEN fruit!
If one is dieting, the mere mention of an McDonald's fish sandwich it mouth watering tantalizing!
I can TESTIFY to that fact as a dear friend described to me how good it tasted-to the point I drove myself crazy until I finally gave in and bought one.
It wasn't THAT good!!!
WE want/desire that man/woman!
WE want/desire that respect or love or appreciation from that individual and cannot obtain it!
Can you say "I CAN'T GET NO SATISFACTION???"
James 4:1-2 (KJV)
1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
The ONLY way to GET some satisfaction, IN THIS LIFE, is to ACCEPT the Word of God and TRUST in His Way!
Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
BE CONTENT WITH SUCH THINGS AS YE HAVE!!!
If YOU can't have it, then YOU cannot have it!!!
AMEN!!??
If YOU can't do it, the ACCEPT you can't do it!!!
As the late Andre Crouch wrote about God's Word:
"YOU CAN'T CHANGE IT, REARRANGE IT, GOD SAID IT, JUST BELIEVE IT!"
IT IS WHAT IT IS, BELOVED!!!!
YES, "one IS the loneliest number that you'll ever do/know" BUT.........
Sometimes ONE must take a stand and be ONE/ALONE with God!!!!
ONE must be and CAN be enough WITH God!

"FOR HE HATH SAID, I WILL NEVER LEAVE OR FORSAKE THEE!"
