Movies and Cranes and Conflict. Oh My! The One World One Water Center has a lot in store for you this fall. Here are a few of the exciting events open to the public.


On September 3rd the OWOW Center and Denver Water are hosting a FREE showing of the film The Milagro Beanfield War at the amazing SIE Film Center. Everyone is invited to enjoy this event but space is limited so please RSVP ahead of time at www.owowfilmnight.rsvpify.com. The theatre opens at 6:45pm, film begins at 7pm.

Crane Migration Workshop
September 30, 2014
9:30-10:45am in St. Cajetan's

Dan Luecke and David Little will discuss the crane migration between Texas and Canada and the incredible amount of collaboration between organizations that protect the crane migration path. Attendees will learn more about the upcoming March 2015 trip to Nebraska to witness the crane migration and how to join the expedition.

OWOW Highlight of the Month: Rachel Willis

Rachel is originally from Alaska and grew up spending her summers fishing on the Chena River or down south in Valdez. Rachel was an Environmental Science major with a concentration in ecological restoration at Metropolitan State University of Denver. While at Metro she served as the Vice President for the Colorado Wildlife Federations student club. She is excited to work with Colorado Trout Unlimited on River Cleanup projects and to learn about river conservation in Colorado. Rachel is looking forward to being involved in conservation efforts in beautiful Colorado and to starting her career working for TU. 
2014 Sustaining Colorado Watersheds Conference

Come Hell or High Water! The 9th Annual Sustaining Colorado Watersheds Conference will be held at the Weston Riverfront Resort in Avon, CO from October 7-9, 2014. This year's conference will explore the spirit of community resiliency in the wake of the 2013 floods, wildfires, and other risks to our watersheds.

Internship Opportunities... 
Colorado Foundation for Water Education is looking for an intern to assist in the areas of fundraising and communications. This is a part-time paid position. Please visit the CFWE website for more details. This is a great opportunity to work with one of the leading water education groups in Colorado. You do not want to miss out on this opportunity!

Bluff Lake Nature Center is seeking interns interested in guiding science and nature based field trips for students ECE through 5th grade. Their programs build towards an understanding of habitats, life cycles, and the importance of wetlands. Training is available for interns. Candidates must be available Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday from 9:30am-12:30pm. Please contact Keith or call 720-708-4079.
Water Association of Student Steward Urban Programs Upcoming Events 
The WASSUP Club would like to invite you to two of their educational upcoming events...

Tuesday, September 2nd, the WASSUP Club is hosting a storm water pollution lunch and learn on Auraria Campus in the Tivoli Student Union, Room 320 from 11-1pm. Guests speakers include Donny Roush from Earth Force and Casey Davenhill from Cherry Creek Stewardship Partners. There will also be a presentation from the City of Denver. 

Thursday, September 4th, the WASSUP Club is hosting the "Cherry Creek Adoption Sign Up and Training" on Auraria Campus in the Tivoli Student Union, Room 444 from 2-4pm. Dr.Jason Janke, Chair of the Earth and Atmospheric Science Department at MSU Denver, will welcome speakers from the Denver Parks and Recreation and Cherry Creek Stewardship Partners.
