One of Our Favorite Quilts

As always, I am so excited to share this quilt with you! This pattern, Hearts Bouquet, has not been featured in a while. In this version Barb, the quilter, has utilized a neutral color palette of creams and black. I think this brings a current look to a classic design!

Unlike some appliqued quilts that have a 'busy' look, this has a more open, elegant appearance. In the center Barb has hand appliqued a heart onto a cream background. Notice how each petal to the flowers, as well as each leaf, is a heart. The quilting on either side of the applique accents the heart in the center.

I’d like you to notice how perfectly the quilter has hand appliqued each piece. You’ll see that each heart also lays nice and flat.

My favorite part of this piece are the whimsical, black embroidery stitches! I thought I would show you a closer look at it, along with a closer look at the fabrics. I think the stitching gives a great contrast, and makes the detail of the hand quilting 'pop'.

Look at the fun, feminine bow in the pillow tuck!

As you can see on the drop of the quilt, the neutral colors coordinate well with many other colors to make it easy to match your room. The flowers are laid out in a balanced pattern. With the darkest pattern as the center flower, and offset by the dark cream and gold fabrics.

I think another nice detail to this quilt is the fanned corner. As always, each quilt is signed by the local person responsible for the creation. Can you spy Barb's signature in the corner of this quilt?

The fabric used on the back of this quilt is the same as on the front. The edge of the quilt has a black binding. The black binding will preserve the cleanliness of the quilt if it dusts the floor. Enjoy this heirloom piece of art!
