One-on-One  with IACP President Baylor Rice, RPh, FIACP

IACP President Baylor Rice, RPh, FIACP
Thank you for the opportunity to answer a lot of questions I've received over the past year about IACP Fundraising, and to help address some of the concerns I've heard about fundraising efforts in this three-part discussion! In my second One-on-One discussion, I shared how your dues and donations are being utilized in order to help preserve patient access to compounded medications.

The IACP Board of Directors and staff are working tirelessly to ensure that we are strategically applying your contributions to our ongoing efforts, while also being vigilant on where we can be more efficient and save money.

It's vitally important to the IACP Board of Directors and staff that IACP operates in a fully transparent manner. As such, we wish to provide you with a comprehensive view of how we are using your dues and donations in IACP's daily operations.

In this One-on-One, I'd like to talk with you about IACP's Fundraising activities, and talk about the new IACP Fundraiser, the President's Gala, taking place during IACP's Educational Conference this year!

Traditionally, the primary means of contributing to IACP have included your annual IACP Dues and One Fund.

IACP Dues help pay for the everyday expenses to run IACP and your donations to  One Fund  provide IACP with the ability to provide additional initiatives outside of operational expenses like state and federal government affairs efforts to make sure your and patients' voices are heard on Capitol Hill in order to preserve patient access to customized medicines!

This effort includes many activities:
  • Funding ongoing legislative/government affairs efforts in Washington, D.C.;
  • Tracking federal and state legislative and regulatory updates;
  • Engaging patient and provider grassroots advocacy - Partnership for Personalized Prescriptions (P3) website and grassroots efforts;
  • Promoting and raising awareness of compounding through engagement with media, professional meetings/associations;
  • Providing action alert platforms/Voter Voice to provide easy-to-use effective means for IACP members, patients & providers to contact Congressional representatives; and,
  • Educating the compounding community, providing annual professional meeting forums and industry experts/speakers.

This year, as we reviewed our fundraising goals and activities, the  IACP Board of Directors  as well as the  IACP Education Committee chaired by Jennifer Burch, PharmD, RPh, CDE, CPP , who also is your  IACP Vice President , launched a goal to bring IACP members together to celebrate the installation of the new IACP Board of Directors and serve as the premier annual fundraising event for IACP.

Through this brainstorming and excitement for IACP's future, the President's Gala was born! The Educational Committee and IACP Board of Directors brainstormed many ideas and decided that an annual gala would be a perfect venue to not only fundraise for IACP; but, also bring together IACP colleagues for great networking and a celebratory party with a purpose.

To that end, IACP is thrilled to debut our FIRST Annual President's Gala during the Educational Conference on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in the Infinity Ballroom at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Fla!

Attendees will meet IACP's new Executive Vice President, Cynthia Blankenship, and witness the installation of the 2018 IACP Board of Directors Officers including IACP's incoming President Erik Tosh, BS, RPh, FIACP, FACA. We're also proud to announce that all proceeds from the Gala will go to IACP's One Fund! Your IACP Board of Directors, Education Committee, and staff are planning an exciting event that will introduce you to all the member initiatives IACP has underway for you!
