2015 ALPC Church Retreat Signup DEADLINE Approaching!

Every year the ALPC church family gets together for a weekend of fun, worship, and intelligent thought amidst the peace and serenity of the Lake Erie shoreline at a retreat center just outside of Vermilion. This year we will celebrate God together in a new way, keeping the aspects of the old Beulah Beach Retreat that people loved, and changing those pieces that were in need of a little revision.

This time there will be differences that will completely change the way you look at the Church Retreat! Beulah Beach was once an antique set of buildings with questionable carpet cleanliness and cramped classrooms. This year we will find ourselves on the same beautiful shoreline but in brand new classroom accommodations! These new state of the art rooms will go a long way toward enhancing the learning and worship environments!

The new classes are sure to peak your interest. They are taught by our very own, and for the first time you can CHOOSE which topic you would like to learn about! OR, you may simply choose to do nothing at all, opting instead for the cool breeze of lake Erie instead of a lesson. Either way, we want you to join us, to break bread and to worship with us!

Signups won't be around forever, and the deadline is fast approaching. You can sign up in the lobby of the church on the bulletin board near the hallway, or you can call the church office to sign up.

The retreat is open to every single member of ALPC and their friends, regardless of their age. Prices are as follows:

Adult (double occupancy): $75

Adult (Single occupancy): $90

Minor (Adult accompaniment required): $30

Infant (Under 2): Free

The above prices include food and a room for the night

Don't want to stay the night? That's fine, too. Prices are:

Adult (4 meals included): $40

Saturday or Sunday only (2 meals): $20

Doesn't that say "hashtag hashtag"?

A HASHTAG is a symbol and so much more. You might think of it as a "number symbol" or a "pound sign", but in the world of social media it represents the idea of unity. By placing the "#" symbol before a word or string of words (without spaces), the computer code is able to collect and unify all comments from all over the world under that heading - literally creating one list of unified results.

HASHTAG is bigger than one idea or thought. It is bigger than the single comment. It is the culmination of everything under one group, the sum of the parts. But it is also the recognition of the diversity within those ideas.

And so, #HASHTAG (Literally pronounced "hashtag hashtag") is the paradoxical understanding that we are unified in Christ for this one event, and that it is that unity of diversity that creates the whole - unity within diversity within unity - or #HASHTAG.

Getting a little deep? Perhaps, but don't worry, if that isn't your thing, we are cool with that - this retreat is about just being. Just enjoying. Just living, together as one group in all our similarities and differences. Sign up today!
