Season Wrap-Up
Except for Fat Bike or cycle-cross enthusiasts, as well as other brave all-season cyclists, many of us are wrapping up the cycling season with a few final rides into November. But what a year 2015 has been!

Ontario By Bike started the year off with the publication of our 2015 Cycling in Ontario / Le vĂ©lo en Ontario Guide , featuring 20 destinations throughout Ontario. We got the guide into the hands of nearly 35,000 cyclists this year. Did you get your copy? Make sure you also view the video produced to help promote the guide, and shown on rotation at Ontario Tourism Info Centres. CLICK TO VIEW.  We'll be out with a new edition early in 2016.

This year we added a number of new regions to the Network including:  Lambton County, London, Northeastern Ontario (North Bay, Mattawa and West Nippissing), Waterloo Region and the County of Brant. Lots of great places to cycle, trails and road routes, plus over 55 new locations have registered and been certified as bicycle-friendly!

Ontario By Bike Rides 2015 were a big success as we hosted  over 55 cyclists on two sm all group tours along rail trails earlier this year.

September Ride participants in Port Dover

Both ride itineraries are now available on-line to help you plan a self-guided tour. Download here: Uxbridge Kawartha Rail Trail WeekendHamilton Brantford Paris Port Dover Rail Trail Weekend. Stay tuned for info on 2016 ride weekends.

We hope that over the winter, as you look towards making plans for riding in 2016, you will be able to make use of our resources and newly  redesigned website, giving you as cyclists an improved user experience with enhanced site navigation, mobile friendly design and full French translation.

Throughout the summer, portions of the Waterfront Trail that traverse the southern edge of the city of Toronto, also known as the Martin Goodman Trail, were completed and opened to the public!

Cyclists can now ride along a separated bike path from Parliament Street to Bathurst Street featuring dedicated bicycle signals.

New Bike Repair Stands in Simcoe County
Bike repair stations are popping up in all kinds of useful locations across Ontario. In our August enewsletter we shared info on the Steamwhistle stands and locations (link to article here).

Now Cycle Simcoe has raised the bar, and is just completing the installation of 15 bike repair stations around the Simcoe County. Find bike repair stands, with tools and pump in Collingwood, Wasaga, Midland, Barrie, Oro-Medonte and County building on Hwy#26, with more to be installed before the winter in Orillia and Tay Township. Learn more at: cyclesimcoe.ca/repair-stand and view all locations on this Google map link.

See the stand in action - so easy to use even a 4 year old can have fun and learn more about bike repairs!
