Farmer's Market Business of the Week!
If it's Thursday, it must be Farmer's Market!
Today, May 24th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., come check out Linden Tree at the "Business of the Week" booth at the Farmer's Market -- it's a great time to chat with a staff member who will have some new releases on hand to make recommendations for summer reading lists! Just walk across the street to the store, open until 8:00 p.m.!

Book Recommendations for Teens/Young Adults and Young Children
If your teen has finished "Hunger Games," and is interested in additional books of a similar genre, we suggest they delve next into the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth.
The first two books, about 500 pages each, are real page-turners. Young adults seem to also be intrigued that this author is only 23 years old herself!
We also have the latest in the very-popular Ladybug Girl series for younger children. With diverse themes like overcoming fears, friendships and compromise, and learning responsibility, we think there's something for everyone in these tales (she has a friend named Bumblebee Boy, too!)
If your children have their summer reading lists handy, this is a great time to get them to us! We can order any book in print and can get them in to the store within a few days.

Los Altos First Friday June 1st!
On Friday, June 1st, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Linden Tree will be hosting a children's craft with a "Passport to Adventure!" Stop by to personalize your own summer passport and then visit the other downtown merchants for additional stickers and stamps.
We will also be happy to help you select books related to any travel you have planned for the summer -- from activities kids can do in the back of the car (TONS of Klutz books in stock!) to host/hostess gifts like cookbooks or young adult selections for nieces and nephews.

Summer 2012 Concert Schedule!
It's here! We know you've been waiting for it, but we also need your help. We are looking for a worthy non-profit/charity/organization to be the recipient of our book donations for the summer. In the past we've supported The Gift of Reading, but they are no longer in operation.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.!
No concert July 4th
July 25 - Where's Waldo? (Craft Day)
As in the past, there are no admission fees, however we do ask that you purchase one new book at Linden Tree to be donated to a worthy cause (please send your suggestions soon!) |
