ABOUT THE FILM
What do women want? Bridesmaids, apparently, the hit comedy that drives a stake through the heart of wedding movies by celebrating and mocking the sacred ceremony in equal proportions. And if you’re tired of adolescent, male gross-out movies, this is the perfect antidote, proving that women can do it too, and in this case better.  Written by Saturday Night Live veteran Kristen Wiig, who also stars, and Groundling alumnus Annie Mumolo, Bridesmaids provides more than enough laughs to get you through the summer, or at least June, and doesn’t insult your intelligence.  If only Gilda Radner were alive to see it. Cast includes Rose Byrne (Damages) and John Hamm (Mad Men).--PB
