As mentioned in the final 2018 FAFP Capital Update, all physicians and practitioners registered with the DEA to prescribe controlled substances are required to obtain two (2) hours of mandatory controlled substance prescribing CME before January 31, 2019. The FAFP was recently approved by the FL Board of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine to provide the required CME and has developed a course that will be presented both live and online (via webinar). The FAFP is pleased to announce the first live course will be presented Friday, May 4 from 5-7PM, as a main stage lecture for all registered attendees during the FAFP 2018 Family Medicine Spring Forum. The program will be repeated at the summer and winter meetings as well, not to mention available via webinar in the near future. Although the FAFP opposed this requirement, efforts to ensure compliance remains a high priority as a benefit to FAFP members.
