is a non-traditional service at First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley, San Diego. We meet in the "Cove" (directions) every Sunday, 9:30 AM under the leadership of Dr. Elbert Kim and the live Water's Edge band, led by Chris Durrand.

Opportunism to Integrity
Do you ever wish that you knew more people with integrity? Politicians get our attention fairly often, but we have this wish for our friends too, for our communities, and for ourselves. Instead of being surrounded by opportunists -- people who are just focused on getting ahead and grabbing whatever opportunities come about regardless of principle or effect -- wouldn't it be wonderful to know, instead, that we are surrounded by people who do and say what they mean, and who are conscientious about how their actions and words affect others?
This Sunday we will talk about moving from opportunism to integrity. The epistle to the Ephesians talks about a movement from sinful, self-focused living to a life infused and inspired by grace. When we are driven in our lives only by what we desire, things we want or feelings we crave, we aren't really living. That kind of constant hungering only brings exhaustion! God wants and offers something different to us through Jesus. Come and hear about a life fulfilled: not jammed with continual yearnings, but abundantly provided for and transformed by knowing our true identity.

Potluck in the Cove this Sunday!
Stay, meet and mingle with new and old friends after Sunday worship
Last month's potluck was a real feast. We think this Sunday will be even better. Hope you'll join us after the service this Sunday, have a bite to eat and drink. Take a moment to meet some new friends in our Water's Edge community.
Please bring some food or drink to share but remember that even if you should forget, there will always be plenty to go around.

One of the goals for the Water's Edge congregation this year is to support our First Church Food Ministry: Loaves and Fishes. Besides canned food items, milk, eggs, and bread are always welcome. You may leave your donations in The Cove, or in Linder Hall.

Our service is low-key, non-traditional with weekly communion, open to everyone.
The band plays original Christian and traditional praise music. And it's ok to applaud.
