HVTDC Radiating Innovation in New York

     The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in New York, thanks to the collaborative effort of Manufacturing Extension Partner (MEP), Hudson Valley Technology Development Center (HVTDC). For the past year, companies throughout the state joined to bring an innovative product to the market, from startup Radiator Labs, that will revolutionize the way offices and apartment buildings are heated and save billions of dollars in energy costs. The product is a radiator-based heating system, transforming cast-iron radiators into energy-efficient heaters. Read More

Governor Cuomo Announces Plan to Provide More Than $2 Billion in Tax Relief to New York's Families & Businesses

 

State Transformed from $10 Billion Deficit to Projected $2 Billion Surplus

Package Continues to Increase Economic Opportunity by Reducing Taxes and Attracting Businesses

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced details of a more than $2 billion tax relief proposal designed to increase economic opportunity and attract and grow businesses across the State. Thanks to responsible fiscal management in state government, New York has gone from a $10 billion deficit to an expected $2 billion surplus. Today's proposals are made possible by this success, and are the next major step in New York's continued transformation to more affordable state businesses and families. 

 

Governor Cuomo's proposal includes the following measures:

  • Real Property Tax Credit for Manufacturers; 
  • Eliminate Tax Rate on Upstate Manufacturers;
  • Cut Business Taxes and Treat Businesses More Fairly;
  • 2-Year Freeze on Property Taxes;
  • Property Tax "Circuit Breaker";
  • Renters' Tax Credit;
  • Estate Tax Reforms; and
  • Tax Simplification

New York Green Bank to launch with $210m funding

Governor Cuomo confirms seed funding as bank gears up to open in early 2014

The NY Green Bank is a $1B initiative introduced in Governor Cuomo's 2013 State of the State Address. Working closely with the private sector, the NY Green Bank will support a thriving clean energy economy while promoting job creation and fostering a cleaner environment throughout the state. The NY Green Bank serves as the financial engine driving Governor Cuomo's strategic statewide vision to scale up clean energy markets, enhance New York's competitiveness for clean energy businesses, and make the State's energy systems more resilient.

~ Shirley Huang ~ 

HVTDC continues to be the "go to" team for manufacturing excellence, and also remains the "go to" place for technically creative minds to get a jump-start on their careers. We are happy to announce that Shirley Huang has joined our team full time as of January 2014.

 

Shirley received her Masters Degree in Computer Science at the State University of New York at New Paltz in December 2013. Shirley also has a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University in New York, NY, and a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School.

 

Shirley will be bringing her expertise to HVTDC in the areas of business analytics, data mining and web programming. She will be a key member of HVTDC's team, addressing a Nationwide Initiative of Supply Chain Management.
