Opportunity! Blessing!
What immediately comes to mind when you hear these words?
Is it...getting? Or is it...giving?
My first thought. My first emotion. Shows where my heart truly lies. Where my beliefs are truly rooted.
For me, my first thought wasn't giving. But, I want it to be.
I want to see giving as a blessing. Always a blessing.
And an opportunity.
An opportunity to be like my Dad, my role model.
An opportunity to sow into His Kingdom.
An
opportunity
to partner with Him to see His Kingdom come, right here on Earth as it is in Heaven.
An opportunity to be truly who I am.
Not a shadow of who I am. Not just a part of who I am. But all of who I am! Lavish lover. Extravagant giver. Daughter of the King.
And so today, I ask you, will you join me?
Will you join me in learning to become a giver. A real giver.
Not an unsure, fearful, let-me-think-it-over-one-more-time giver.
But a purpose-filled, faith-filled, joy-filled giver.
Blessed and
excited by every opportunity
to give. To pour out. To be extravagant
.
Just like Dad.
Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with Him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of Himself to us. Love like that. Ephesians 5:1-2 MSG
Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full - pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Now I am putting you in the care of God and the message about His grace. It is able to give you strength, and it will give you the blessings God has for all His holy people.
