URGENT UPDATE!
SIGN ON TO OPPOSE PA FOSSIL FUEL SUBSIDIES!

Food & Water Watch and Sunrise Movement are calling on our state elected officials to oppose the creation of any new fossil fuel subsidies.

Please join us by signing your organization onto this sign-on letter:  fwwat.ch/pasubsidies

Pennsylvania needs to take the lead in stemming the climate crisis, but each year our state hands out $3.2 billion in subsidies to the fossil fuel industry. Instead of subsidizing the fossil fuel interests that threaten our health, welfare, safety, and our natural environment, we should invest in energy efficient buildings and vehicles, as well as jobs in clean renewable energy from the sun, wind and geothermal sources.

However, leaders on both sides of the aisle are proposing new fossil fuel subsidies. Governor Wolf’s proposed  Restore PA  plan would direct state funding to fracked gas pipelines and petrochemical infrastructure. Speaker of the House Mike Turzai has proposed a plan called  Energize PA , which would create even more handouts for the oil and gas industry. Both of these plans are bad for Pennsylvanians facing the impacts of fracking and climate change.
