Hypertension or High Blood Pressure affects an increasing number of Americans. Is there something wrong with you or is it your diet? Dr. Sears discusses the necessity of a certain coenzyme that helps your body manage blood pressure.
Read more of his article to find out what foods contain this important nutrient. After reading, consider
Liverwurst or
Braunschweiger as a tasty introduction to
organ meats.
Our
Recipe Corner this week highlights a really yummy idea for
ground turkey. Recipe author,
Gabriella Schneider, who has fought the effects of Lyme disease for years, also has a book on the topic,
Organ Meat Makeover. Tick bites, along with mosquitoes, are a part of summertime. You'll want to know how she's benefited from implementing a
Paleo Autoimmune Protocol (AIP). Kudos Gabriella!

When I tell my hypertensive patients that they have high blood pressure, they almost always ask me "Why?"
Seems like a pretty basic question. But most doctors have no good answer. They'll tell you it's your age. Or they'll tell you it's called "primary" or "essential" hypertension. That means you have it because you have it. They have no idea why.

Give this Ground Turkey Slider recipe a try when you need something creative and quick. Gabriella Schneider has raised the bar with this gem. It's AIP and Paleo friendly due to some interesting substitutions in the guacamole. YUM!
A big USWM THANK YOU to Gabriella Schneider, certified chef, writer, and science lover using diet, lifestyle, and personal primal knowledge to overcome the odds of healing from chronic Lyme Disease. For more information about an AIP lifestyle, check out Gabriella's blog and e-book, Organ Meat Makeover!
Farm Photos
Rolling upland in Northeast Missouri is providing excellent nutrition despite a prolonged dry spell this summer. Utilizing 30 or more days of rest is a wonderful management tool for soil, plants, and cattle.
These cattle show a shine hair coat as evidence nutrition has been very well this grazing season. Cattle and farmers are looking forward to August rains!
