North Lane Storm Water Mitigation Project (expect delays on Camino Pablo)
On the evening of December 15, 2016, two front yards along North Lane experienced flooding as a result of a significant amount of silt and debris clogging our newly installed trash racks at the entrance to the new 60" diameter storm drain pipe and the pre-existing 48" diameter pipe.

The storm on last Thursday brought a vast amount of rain in a short period of time and the runoff from the hillside flowing into the stream  and down to the trashrack brought branches, rocks, silt, and other debris to the headwall, creating a backlog/blockage. The storm runoff overtopped the headwall and traveled into two front yards and also downhill along North Lane. Crews were sent out to remove the silt from the stream which was 4 feet deep over an area of approximately 500 square feet to restore hydraulic capacity.

Public Works will be evaluating the trash rack effectiveness and will be searching upstream for large erosion sources that  caused the large amount of silt material.

Last week, the contractor partially installed the traffic loops at the Camino Pablo/North Lane intersection. The left turn signal from Camino Pablo northbound to North Lane was accidentally cut and will require a second trip to be completed.  This will result in a few seconds delay on Camino Pablo southbound to allow automatic left turns due to the lack of vehicle detection. Currently, the City is monitoring the projected weather conditions and coordinating with the contractor and the County to set up a date to complete this work. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

New Project Applications:

19 La Campana: Exception permit application to add a third story at basement level to a previously approved new home project. The approved design includes a buried basement; the proposed modification to the design would add a covered patio and egress from the basement, causing the basement to count as a third story.

23 Paintbrush Lane (Lot 121 at Wilder): A request for design-review approval for a new 3,343 adjusted square foot, multi-story, single-family residence on a 20,840 square-foot vacant lot in the Wilder subdivision.

Zoning Administrator Updates:

29 Big Leaf Road (Lot 46 at Wilder): A request for design-review approval for a new multi-level, 4,270 adjusted square foot single-family residence and a 288 square-foot elevated deck on a 19,810 square-foot vacant lot in the Wilder subdivision.

27 La Campana Road: Tree Removal Permit application has been received. Proposal is to remove one, protected 16-inch live oak tree (Quercas agrifolia), not involving a development application. The request for the removal is due to potential safety and liability concerns as identified by Brightview Tree Care Services.

19 Monte Vista Road Exception Permit application to enclose an existing carport to create a 2-car garage which would encroach into the front yard setback.
