On December 5th surgeons at Orthopedic ONE will provide free knee replacements to four patients from the central Ohio area as part of Operation Walk USA.

Currently in its fourth year, Operation Walk USA, an independent medical charitable organization, provides all aspects of knee and hip replacement treatment- surgery, hospitalization, and pre-and post-operative care - at no cost to patients who may not qualify for government assistance, have insurance or afford surgery on their own.

Operation Walk USA is a volunteer effort on behalf of more than 120 volunteer orthopedic surgeons and 70 participating hospitals in 32 states.  Four Orthopedic ONE surgeons will volunteer their time this year to the program:  

•     Michael A. McShane, M.D.
•     Paul G. Melaragno, M.D.
•     Vivek Sahai, M.D.
•     Kurt L. Unververth, M.D.

As we all prepare for a long weekend of giving thanks and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Michigan Wolverines, we thought we would share a story that just may help you get pumped for the big game! 
 

Do you recall the 1996 Buckeyes? The 1996 Buckeyes are possibly one of the best remembered OSU Footballs teams in history, in part due to their epic come from behind Rose Bowl win, and in part due to the star-studded group of players. 
 

So why are we so interested in this 1996 team?  Well, we have our own celebrity in the midst of it all.  Orthopedic ONE physician, Dr. Greg Bellisari, served as a captain on the 96' team and was recently featured on the Big Ten Networks release of a new episode of "Big Ten Elite" spotlighting this 1996 11-1 OSU Team.

 The show features interviews with former Ohio State coach John Cooper, linebackers Andy Katzenmoyer and Greg Bellisari, quarterbacks Joe Germaine and Stanley Jackson, current Buckeye assistant coach Luke Fickell, and offensive tackle Orlando Pace.
