Natalie and Robin
Natalie and her mom, Robin

Natalie Bates was diagnosed with lupus three years ago refusing to let lupus stop her from living her life. With a $5000 goal, Natalie has already raised over $1500 with creative fundraising ideas for her team, The Purple Warriors. Natalie was recently featured in the Marietta Daily Journal.

Her Mom

Hope Collett carries a collection can throughout the school day  raising funds for the Walk for Lupus Now. Inspired by her mother, Stacie Collett, our Cherokee Support Group Leader who was diagnosed with lupus in 2005, Hope has already raised over $190 with her container. Hope and Stacie are also raising funds selling hand knitted hats and scarves.

 Tips from top walkers

Rob Murphy - Team Murphy

  • Ask local merchants for $25 gift cards for incentives to motivate your walkers.
  • If you reach your fund raising goal, consider making it higher. Visitors to your page will give more to help you reach your goal.

Adam Goldberg - Team ARCO

  • Make a personal donation to show potential donors that you are supporting the walk.
  • Ask for a specific amount. Your donors may not know what the "average" donor gives.
  • Ask those closest to you to forward your email to their contacts.
