Spring 2017 is well under way! We have exciting things for you in the coming days.
A Message From The Director!
Saying I’m excited for Shrek is definitely an understatement! As someone who has been in this show, I can confidently say it is one of my all-time favorites! If you thought that Shrek was just full of potty humor and dumb jokes, this musical will prove you wrong… The music is so much fun and ranges all different styles. The choreography is high energy and full of character. The story is all about being yourself and valuing yourself for who you are. In a world where people are categorized and told to think a certain way, it’s important for us to realize that our differences are what make us special and unique, just as God has given us different gifts and talents. We each have an important part to play, and I am so excited for the message that this show has to share!
Come ready to laugh! Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears! With fun music, unforgettable characters, and a comedic but heartfelt message, Shrek helps us remember that “beautiful ain’t always pretty.” I look forward to seeing you all at the show in June!

My CYT Story
Megan Gullion

Micah 6:8 "And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

Our earliest experience with CYT was as audience participants.  We loved coming to see the shows and always marveled at the quality of the performance and the talent of all the kids.  After we saw Peter Pan, we decided it was time to join in on all the fun.  Our daughter Emma loves to sing and perform, so we were excited to try it!  Throughout our first session and being in the show, we watched her come out of her shell and develop her talents.  The artistic team worked with her ensemble group on developing their characters and the results were amazing!  We saw her own the stage and come alive in her role!  Now that we have been with CYT for over 3 years, we can say without a doubt that being a part of this organization has impacted all of our lives for the better.  Emma’s favorite thing about CYT is the teachers and artistic team members who have invested in her, loved her and brought out the best in her.  We love that the focus at CYT is not only training in theater arts, but also character development.  I became a teacher at CYT 2 years ago, and that has added an even greater love for this organization and for the kids of CYT.  I love them with all of my heart and feel so blessed to watch them grow in their gifts and talents, and in confidence.  CYT has been such a blessing to our family and we look forward to the years to come!

Teacher Highlight!
Beth Riddle
Beth Riddle has been a performer since the age of three and her greatest passion is the performing arts. Over the last 18 years, Beth has performed in over 40 productions with 11 theatre companies, and directed 10 shows with 5 theatre companies. She has had 3 years of college level theatre training (including 9 shows) and has also had 4 years of college level vocal performance training. Beth thanks God every day for allowing her to be a part of such a great community as the one theatre provides and hopes that with God's help she will be able to teach kids about His love for them through the spectacle of theatre!
Daniel Aguilar
Hi! I'm Daniel Aguilar and I'm off the walls excited to rejoin CYT after my session break. In the time away I have learned much more and I am ready to bestow as much of it onto my students. In the past I have taught for Duke University's TIP program I am more than likely returning to their facilities this summer and helping students all over the world!
Before my departure I welcome everyone to come see West Side Story this summer at Emily Ann Theatre where I will be starring as Bernardo! If you do don't be afraid to say hello after the show!
