Happy Anniversary...to Us!

Blue Hills Sports & Spine Rehabilitation opened it's first location in Braintree on September 6, 2006. We started with two employees in a small basement office and hoped that we would be able to convey our message of "Why Let Pain Win?" effectively enough to grow that first office. Since 2006 we have grown to four locations (Boston, Braintree, Weymouth and Plymouth), have a team of over 30 employees and we have had the opportunity to help well over 20,000 new patients. We continue to challenge people to "Change the way they think about pain. Change the way they think about physical therapy. Change their lives." We have a number of staff that have been with us since the beginning and have helped us grow. There are many that have moved out of the area but continue to practice with the same philosophy that we use at Blue Hills Sports & Spine. Thank you to all the patients that have chosen us to help them get back to their lives again...and who have then sent family and friends to our facilities.  Thank you to the referring doctors who send their patients to us (and sometimes themselves) because they want the best for them. Thank you to our dedicated staff who continue to maintain a high level of quality patient care and earning high marks in our patient surveys for satisfaction (98%+ for years running). We hope to keep going at least another 10 years!
Time For Backpack Safety

As we are sending our kids back to school after a fun filled summer, it's time for a quick reminder about backpack safety. Making sure that the packs our kids are carrying are not too heavy, are the correct size and that they are wearing them the right way is important. Having a pack that is too heavy or is being worn on just one shoulder can lead to overdeveloping some back muscles and putting too much strain on others. The American Physical Therapy Association has put together some good handouts and a helpful video to show the proper way to fit a back pack for your children. To see the video, click on the image above. To view or print the handout,  click here . Remember, backpack safety applies to adults too!!

Back to School, Back To Fall Soccer

It's back to school and for many kids that means it's also time to start playing fall soccer. At Blue Hills Sports & Spine, we regularly treat kids (and adults) that have injured themselves while playing soccer. Many of the injuries can be prevented with proper training, warm ups and stretching, but sometimes no amount of preparation can really stop injuries from happening. To learn more about common injuries and some of the treatment that is done, click on the picture to the right to be brought to our patient education portal. There we have some great educational information about some of the more common injuries with pictures and even some short videos. To help possibly prevent some injuries, click here for our stretching program for soccer players. Good luck this season and hopefully you stay injury free. Should you need care, come see the experts at any of our locations.
