Men's Club presents George Fendel on Gershwin - It's hard to imagine anyone involved in Portland 's jazz scene not knowing who George Fendel is, he's been active in jazz radio for over twenty years. Men's club is pleased have George break from a busy schedule. George will discuss Gershwin's music and will even play for us.

Mittleman Jewish Community Center and Congregation Neveh Shalom present Larry Nobori and his jazz group will play the pre-World War swing music of the 1930s. He will discuss the music in relation to A Night in Shanghai.

- Neveh Shalom Supports JFCS's Thanksgiving Food Boxes - Help families in need celebrate Thanksgiving. Neveh Shalom has committed to providing 150 bottles of Martinelli's Sparkling Cider. Collection boxes will be out until Nov 18.

Do you love to sing?  
Do you fondly remember singing in the school choir? Or perhaps you are a shower singer?  From experienced to "learner", no matter your level or knowledge, "Koleinu", the new Neveh Shalom singing group has a place for you. We are a fun group with a professional director and exciting future. All that is missing is you! E-mail Joni Cady  to find out the next practice time. Come try it out! Some choral experience and ability to read music is preferred but NOT required. Open to all! We rehearse on Mondays at 7:30pm.

With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you of the passing of Maris, Marg Everett's K-9 companion. She has been a part of the Neveh Shalom office for nearly 12 years and will be sorely missed.


We regret having to inform you of the passing of our dear friend and congregant, Estelle Ruth Wexler (z"l), beloved mother of Mark, Neil and Paul Wexler. 

Mazel Tov to Hannah Glass daughter of Sarah Kahn Glass and Jonathan Glass and Emma Rosenthal daughter of Chantal and Eli Rosenthal. Hannah and Emma have been nominated for the Stampfer Youth Recognition Program as part of the 2015 Rabbi Joshua Stampfer Community Enrichment Award .
