As the 24th Annual Winter Walk for AIDS approaches, we want to highlight and thank our long-time community partner and Premier One4Zero Sponsor, Lake Jeanette Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry.  Lake Jeanette is a dedicated supporter of the Winter Walk for AIDS along with numerous other worthy causes in the Triad.   We asked the owners and staff of Lake Jeanette Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry to tell us more about what drives their commitment to the community and their passion for the Winter Walk for AIDS. Monthly Musings from THP's Executive Director

"Memories are the key not to the past, but to the future."
~ Corrie ten Boom
Winter Walk is always an emotional time of the year for me - both professionally and personally.
At THP, it is a time we look back and remember those who are no longer with us. We feel it is important to acknowledge that people continue to die from AIDS and AIDS related complications each year.
My mother died on December 7th, 2002 and Winter Walk always falls on or near the anniversary of her death. She died of cancer and the last check she ever wrote was to support my Winter Walk team.
Yet in spite of these somber remembrances, Winter Walk is always a joyous and hopeful event for me. I love seeing so many different types of people gathered in support of folks in our community living with HIV/AIDS. I love the "anything goes" attitude of the walkers and runners - no matter what the weather might bring that day.
(Note to those with connections: We prefer sunshine and moderate temps!)
Most of all, I love that almost 30 years later, this community still cares.
Please join us on Sunday, December 6th and as we remember but also look forward to the day of no new infections. Together, we can be one4zero.
Thank you,
Addison Ore, Executive Director

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro's Thanksgiving / Holiday Fund supports Thanksgiving meals for people in our community who might not otherwise receive them, including many THP clients.  More funds are needed to ensure this program can continue this year.
Please be sure to designate the Thanksgiving / Holiday Fund.  Thank you for your support!
