Connections | June 2018

Every Woman's Place for Support, Connections and Community.
Three amazing programs for three different age groups
In our summer camps, girls will explore issues relevant to their lives, including gender, body image, relationships, mental health and leadership. They will also try new activities like martial arts, yoga, art class, magazine making, and having lunch at Boogies Burgers. Every year participants build strong connections with each other during the week, and many return to participate in the girls programs offered at the Centre during the school year.

This summer we will also run a weekly Girl Up program for girls in grades 10-12, where girls will gather to eat, connect with each other and explore topics of their choosing, including sexual health, self-image, motivation and activism.   All programs are free of charge, and all food, bus tickets and supplies are provided.

Our Girls Camps will run during the following dates:
Girl Power Camp (for girls grades 5 & 6) runs August 13 - 17
Girl Force Camp (for girls grades 7-9) runs August 20 - 24
Girl Up Summer Series(for girls grades 10-12) runs Mondays, 6-8pm, July 9-August 20

These funds will go towards providing more women with food hampers and personal care items like shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, pads and tampons. Thank you to everyone who ran in support of them Women's Centre, and to all the volunteers who came out to cheer them on!
