This Thanksgiving, We R Kermanshahies!

Thanksgiving is a joyful celebration to reflect upon all that we are blessed with. It is a time to show gratitude while taking the time to help those who are less fortunate.  At Child Foundation, we are committed to helping children living in poverty remain in school. With the recent earthquake that took place in the Kermanshah province of Iran, we have a greater demand to help the affected children and their families.

With Thanksgiving just one day away, I write to ask you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to support the work of Child Foundation, which includes the installation of Conex units.  These units will serve as temporary schools to ensure students are back in the classroom as soon as possible.

We are pleased to announce that the first set of these units have made their way to Kermanshah. Each Conex is $5,000 and individuals or organizations that sponsor an entire box will have their names printed on it and receive an official certificate with the location of their box.

Please contribute - any amount, there is none too small - to help our brothers and sisters in Iran. This Thanksgiving, we are all Kermanshahies.

There is no better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than making a conscious decision to help those in need.

Thank you for your support and a happy Thanksgiving!

  Hasti

I am in the 9th grade and live with her mother, uncle, and grandmother. I love sports and have won medals in several competitions despite having poor eyesight.

My Mother divorced my father after she discovered that he is addicted to drugs. We live in my uncle's home and have limited furniture and appliances, which are all very old.

Aside from government subsidies, our only other source of income is my mother's limited wages from her work as a cleaning lady. I love school, and my GPA is 19 out of 20, but life is tough, and I need your support.

I am in the 8th grade and live with my mother. My father was executed after being sentenced to death for murdering a family member while under the influence of drugs.

My family's only source of income is government welfare and a minimal amount from a charity organization.

My GPA is 19.43 and I want to become a doctor. However, my family's situation is always on my mind.

I do not want to quit school and become a child laborer. Please support me to fulfill my goal of becoming a doctor.

U.S.  Sanctions
& Donations

Many have started fundraising on their own to help the earthquake victims utilizing social media outlets like Facebook.

If you are donating through Facebook or other private online fundraising efforts, U.S. government sanctions will prohibit those funds from being released to Iran. Only organizations with a proper license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) will be permitted to send financial aid to Iran.

Child Foundation is among the few organizations in the United States that carries this license and can ensure your financial support directly reaches those who are in need.

Please contact us if you have questions about safe and legal ways to help.
Four Stars from Charity Navigator

On November 16, Charity Navigator, a highly respected charity watchdog, sent an encouraging tweet guiding people to donate toward the Iran earthquake relief effort through the Child Foundation, the only four-star charity working on the ground in Iran.
