Offering services for seniors in Fallbrook, Temecula & Murrieta to live independently and age at home.

Meet Volunteer Driver Bruce Summers

For the past twelve years, Bruce Summers has used his own car to drive seniors and disabled adults to medical appointments outside the Care Van's service area of Fallbrook. He began when the Fallbrook  Hospital  Auxiliary administered the program, which is now the Expanded Rides Program - one of several critical services provided by the Foundation for Senior Care. READ MORE

Adult Day Care Clients at "The Club" Enjoy Games & Crafts
Visit "The Club" in the morning and you'll likely see our guests - mostly seniors coping with memory issues and a younger adult or two with special needs - discussing current events or engaged in chair exercises. Afternoons might find a few who love to cook baking up cookies - alongside one of our care givers - for others at The Club who love to eat them. Games will be going, puzzles will be puzzled over, crafts will be created, and occasionally the buzz of activity quiets a bit to watch a movie. Each week guests are treated to live entertainment - musicians, singers, or animal therapy.  READ MORE

Care Van & Expanded Rides Program are Vital Transportation Services for Seniors & Disabled Adults
Our Care Vans are critical for non-driving seniors and disabled adults to get around Fallbrook for doctor and physical therapy appointments prescriptions and groceries. They're also used to transport clients to and from our Senior Day Care Center, "The Club." It's a safe and reliable door-to-door service many of our clients call a "lifesaver."

For the comfort and safety of our wheelchair-bound clients, the Foundation needs to purchase a specialized wheelchair side-entry van which costs $91,668 to purchase and operate for one year. If you would like your donation to go specifically for this purpose, please make a notation on your check or if donating online through PayPal, click on "add special instructions to seller".

Senior Care Advocates Susan Baglien and Darlene Weber help each worried caller navigate through these and a multitu de of other concerns to find the needed resources and solutions as though the ones in need were their own family members.   READ MORE
Transportation Services - "We need your help to keep it going," Executive Director Rachel Mason

What would you do if you couldn't drive anymore? A recent survey from the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) reported "that low-income, disabled, and elderly people are skipping trips to the doctor's office, missing work, or forgoing church visits because they don't have access to transportation."
Luckily for Fallbrook, our Care Van and Expanded Rides transportation services are mitigating this effect. We provide over 6,000 rides on an annual basis for our seniors and disabled adults in the Greater Fallbrook area.
This is one of our amazing programs and we are fortunate to have great community support. But, this program is expensive and we need your help to keep it going.

Jean Dixon, 92, Relies on Expanded Rides Program for Medical Visits and for Help from Our Advocates
Jean Dixon with volunteer driver Bruce Summers depends on the Foundation's Expanded Rides Program to get to medical appointments outside of Fallbrook.

Fallbrook resident and pianist extraordinaire of 24 years for the Fallbrook Choral, Jean Dixon says, "I don't know what I'd do without the services of the Foundation. It's vital to my life  and to the lives of many of my friends."
Jean still drives herself around Fallbrook but some of her doctors are located in other cities. At one time, she was needing weekly ch

"Jean is a remarkable woman," Bruce says. "She's an excellent piano player and her mind is so sharp."
Thankfully, Jean is sharp enough to know when she needs help too. "We meet so many seniors who are reluctant to get the help they need," says Advocate Darlene Weber. "We're here to help. Fortunately when we visited Jean at home and told her she needed help with a few things, she was not resistant. She welcomed our help."   READ MORE
